Course Objectives:
Students are exposed to real estate terminology, brokerage, appraisal, fair housing, financing, agency, contracts, closing statements, and buy or rent decisions. The course will:

Help prepare the student for the real estate licensing exam
·
Understand the relationship that exists between you and a real estate
agent working with you
·
Be able to use information from the internet and real estate
agents to feel secure in writing real
estate contracts and leases
·
Know what happens at a Lenders Office when applying for a loan, and
know what occurs at the Real Estate Closing when the title transfers from the
seller to the buyer.
The course has been approved
by the Louisiana Real Estate Commission for 45 hours of educational credit toward real estate
licensing.
Credit Hours: Three (3)
General Information: You will need a four-function calculator. You are expected to read the assigned
chapters prior to class. Each class
begins with questions and a short review of prior material.
Homework assignments are reading the assigned chapters and being able to discuss the material in class. Some problems from the text will be assigned. Questions are welcomed during class.
This text is also used for UREL- 332- Advanced Real Estate Principles.
Grading: Your
final grade is based on the following:

Make‑Up Exams: You must meet the following requirements in order
to make up an
exam:
1. Valid reason for missing the exam.

Make‑up exam must be taken prior to the next scheduled class.
